June 12, 2023, 7:15 p.m. “Rough Diamonds” Netflix Miniseries
We will discuss the Netflix miniseries “Rough Diamonds,” which offers a fascinating glimpse, albeit fictional, of life within the Haredi community of diamond merchants in Antwerp. As one reviewer said, “On the surface, Rough Diamonds just looks like a thriller about a man trying to root out the smuggling and gambling activities that could ruin his family. But there are underlying stories about family and religion that underpin the thriller aspect.”
Our Book and Film Club is open to all interested adults in the area. All meetings and materials are in English. The meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise indicated.
